Here at Thinken Math we approaching the learning and teaching of Mathematics differently than the rest.
Mathematics is divided into many branches, such as: arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, analysis, number theory, etc.
Each branch in turn consists of many topics and sub topics.
For example, arithmetic can be broken up into the topics of counting, integers, whole numbers, operations (addition, subtraction, etc), percentages, fractions, etc.
Each topic is broken down into its most basic subtopic and from this “taxonomy” we break down the learning of mathematics into small components.
Each topic is covered in one page, rather than drawn out text. Each page can generate infinite worksheets with practice problems until you or the student masters the topic.
… Then Why is it Called “The Math Tutor’s Handbook?”
The topic lessons are simplified and were designed as a reference sheet for math tutors to help them teach the varied topics within multiple branches of the field. They can be used to aid a tutor, or the site itself can beome the tutor!
If you are new to Thinken, please feel free to explore the topics. A similar approch is being developed in other areas. Thinken Chemistry, and Thinken Physics are in the works! Welcome to Thinken: let the learning commence!
